God’s Plan of Salvation

If you died today, are you sure you would go to heaven?

Guess what.  You can know!  In I John 5:13 the Bible says “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” and here’s how you can know.  In Romans 3:10 the Bible says “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.” and in verse 23, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”  That means everyone here at LBC is a sinner and that means that you are a sinner also.

Now, here is where sin came from.  In Romans 5:12 the Bible says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world…”  This means Adam committed the first sin in the whole world “… and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for all have sinned.”  This word, “death” doesn’t mean just dying and going to the grave; it means separation from God forever and ever in a lake of fire.  This is our punishment for our sin and a debt you owe as of right now.

Thankfully the story doesn’t end there!  In Romans 6:23 the Bible says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”  It’s a gift and is absolutely free!  We can’t buy it, work for it, go to church for it, or be good enough for it.  It is absolutely free!  It would be as if a stranger deposited a million dollars in your bank account and asked nothing in return.  They did the work to earn the money and put it into your account.  All you have to do is receive it.  That is what Jesus did!  He left His home in Heaven, came to earth, died on the cross, shed His blood, bore our sins in His body, and paid for them.  He did everything for you; all you have to do is receive it.

Now that you know you are a sinner, you realize you’re lost without Jesus in your heart and you believe Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for you.  This is what you now need to do.  In Romans 10:9-13 the Bible “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For wit the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the Scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek:  for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Now, “whosoever” means you.  We could put your name there.

If you will trust Jesus to take you to Heaven when you die, just bow your head and close your eyes and pray the following prayer.  Dear Jesus, forgive me of my sins and come into my heart.  I trust You today Jesus to take me to Heaven when I die. Thank You for saving me. Amen.

Now, according to the bible, if you were to die today, where would you go?  That’s right, you will now go to Heaven.  Jesus has forgiven you of your sins!  Congratulations and God bless you!

If you have placed your trust and faith in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour we would love to know.  Please fill out the form below to let us know so that we can pray for your continued growth as a Christian.  You can include as little or as much information as you would like.

As for what to do next, we encourage you to first find a good Bible-believing church to attend and grow in.  Being part of a family of God can help encourage you and help you to learn of God’s words faster.  We also encourage you to develop a pattern of Bible-reading, praying and church attendance to continue your growth.  All of these are an indispensable part of the Christian life.
