Visitations / Witnessing

What Is Witnessing?

Witnessing is simply the act of sharing the Gospel and wonderful news we have learned as Christians with the rest of the world.  It is inviting your neighbor to Sunday service.  It is sharing something you learned in church with your family members.  It is handing a plan of salvation to a stranger.  It is spreading the word of our salvation through Jesus Christ through the world.  It is a vital and important part of our lives as Christians.

Only through sharing the truth about Jesus Christ can we help others to receive their salvation and begin their lives as a follower and believer of the Lord Jesus.  You and I and every other Christian at some point was shown the light by another Christian.  Think about where you would be without that.

Jesus instructed us as Christians to “… Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)  Jesus commanded us to witness to others.  This is not a personal belief or conviction that can come and go.  He told us it is our duty and responsibility to tell others about him.  Here at LBC we take that responsibility very seriously.  Pastor Wilson spends more time focused on visiting the lost and back-slid than almost anyone else in the country.  We understand that not everyone has the ability to spend hours a day walking the streets and trying to get people saved, but could you hand a cashier a tract while getting groceries or invite a friend or family member to church?  If each of us could just get one additional person saved in a year, America would quickly become a shining beacon of Christianity again!

How To Get Involved

Witnessing can be as simple as handing a tract to a cashier.  However, if you’d like to be part of a group and work in a more structured matter there are group soul-winning times on Thursday nights, Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons.  If you are interested in joining in speak to Pastor the next time you see him about where you can help out.
